We bought our first wegie 1988. It was a typical cat from that time, heavy boned, a bit short body, a bit round in the head and not as good temper as there is today. We showed her at Björkstakattens show in Umeå in spring -89 (ex 4). At the show we met S*Lokattens breeder and decided to buy a male from her. Then Zeke came to us and S*Sherwoodskogen cattery started.
We had two litters from him, but we didn't keep any kitten. Later on we bought a female with very old lines, Modgunn (father: S*Ulvåsens Ferdinand and mother: Ekdalens Frida). We showed her some and she gave us our first BIS. She also gave us some litters and from one of them we kept Lady Rowena. At that time we felt that we needed something new. This was before internet so we had to read catmagizins and asking other catpeople. Åsa had always loved the look of S*Mar'Michel's cats, so it had to be a male from them. Finally Rozzo Marageno came home to us (father: Giovanni Bizarro av Hulder and mother: S*Mar'Michel's Mrs. Beutiful Baby). He wasn't very succesful at shows but he was a very good complement to our lines. We mated Rowena with him and Basilika was born and she had it all. Later on we kept another female in the same combination, Cayenne. She wasn't as good looking as her sister but she gave us some nice kittens, especilly the boxing team (Rocky, Hollyfield and Jack D. (father: S*Heaven Hills Big Bang)
We mated Basilika with S*Svarte Petters Bernard and she deliverd three good looking guys (Rolex, Texas and Mad Max). But her nicest boy of all kind is Ozzy, who was very succesful at shows and is one of our favorites. When U'ma came to us we decided that we wanted to mate her with him and Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Casino were born. But all the kittens from us have a place in our hearts. We have the first ones, Robin Hood, Marion and the others. The first litter from Modgunn, they had different colors of all them :-). The biggest ones from Cayenne and S*Bonnea's Amos, our last magic litter, Abrakadabra, Simsalabim and Hokus Pokus. And of course all the others :-)
We usually have one litter per year, but sometimes it has been less often. We don't think it's necessary to breed in such a big scale. It's better to plan and make exiting combinations. Through the years we have had a big help from our friend Marika Söreskog (S*Mar'Michel's).
